Well, another month has flown by and I still don't have another article finished. It's hard to find the time to do research and write an article that interesting. I'll keep trying! I did had fun this past month helping attribute a neat maverick token. The token was found in the Nampa area by a man while metal detecting. He has given me permission to put some pictures of the token on this web site so I'm going to show the token at the bottom of this page. It is a neat, rectangular, aluminum token. I sent a picture of the token to John Mutch and he was the one who actually attributed it. John found Chas. W. Bragunier listed as the proprietor of the White House Bar in a 1914 Boise directory. I have since found him listed in Boise in my 1915 R. G. Dunn & Co. directory. He is listed as C. W. Bragunier, Jr. and the business is listed as a saloon. Anyway, we now have a new Boise token. The rectangular token that Dan Lute found a few years ago in Hill City was also listed in a 1914 directory so maybe that's the time frame when rectangular tokens were being used in Idaho. John Mutch also mentioned that his mobile token lab is back in Boise and should be back in working order soon. There were a lot of good Idaho tokens on ebay this past month. A super token from" Mihlberger and Britt / Gilmore, Ida. // Good For / 5 c / In Trade" sold for $991.02. It is a rare Idaho token from a mining ghost town and was in great condition. Others included a token from the "Office Saloon / Clinton & Sharp / Prop. / Kendrick, Ida. // ?"; round, brass, 21mm. It sold for $661.00. The ebay description of the token didn't list the reverse information, but I think it's the same as the one I have which is "Good For / one / Drink / or /Cigar". I thought the triangular shaped brass token from Weiser was neat. I don't know how many of these are known but this is the first one I've seen. It said "The Metropole / Weiser, Idaho // Good for / 12 1/2c / In Trade" and sold for $243.52. I lost out on the Alturus Hotel Bar token from Hailey which sold for $233.52. A 50c De Lamar Hotel token sold for $323.99 and there were four or five other good Idaho tokens that had lots of bids and sold for over $100.00 each. There were others that I didn't list, but overall it was a very good month for Idaho tokens on ebay. 1. White House / Bragunier // Good For / 12 1/2c / In Trade; Rectangular, Aluminum.
