The Idaho tokens collectors get-together was held in Nampa, Idaho over the weekend of June 7th & 8th.  It was a lot of fun and educational.  We met at the Shilo Inn Suites at 7:00 P.M. and then we all went to dinner at a nearby restaurant.  After dinner we met in a conference room at the Shilo for an evening of trading and story telling.  Saturday morning we met for breakfast and then jumped into our rented van for a trip through Owhee County which is south of Boise.  Since  I had never been down into Owhee County I was excited to see some of the old mining towns in that area.  Our first stop was the small town of Murphy where we toured the local history museum.  We next set out for the old mining town of Silver City up in the Owhee Mountains.  It was a long drive up into the mountains but well worth it.  There are still a lot of the old buildings there including the Idaho Hotel which is a business that used tokens.  We spent three or four hours there and then headed back for Nampa.  On the way we passed the ghost towns of Dewey and De Lamar.  There are no old buildings left in either of these old mining towns.  There are tokens known from both of these towns but they are hard to find.  It was a great day and another great get-together.  We decided to meet next year in Moscow, Idaho.

There were a few previously unknown tokens that showed up at the get together.  I was able to get pictures of them and I will post pictures of them on the pictures portion of this website if I can get  permission from their owners.  I'm going to add a picture I took at Silver City on the bottom of this page.

There have been a few good tokens show up on eBay this past month.  A rare token from Merediths / Hammett, / Idaho // Good For / $1.00 / In Trade sold for $569.99.  A nice Walter A. Johnson / Prichard, / Idaho. // Good For / $1.00 / In Trade sold for $207.50.  Another token that I followed was the Frankell's token from Twin Falls that sold for $113.61 and a nice L. L. Sweet token from Wallace sold for $64.69.

The N. W. TAMS token show is going to be held the weekend of July 12th & 13th.  It is being held in Vancouver, Washington just across the from Portland, Oregon.  I think it is one of the best shows and it is  well worth going to if you have time.

The article I'm adding this month is a redo of an article I did years ago for John Mutch's "Idaho Trade Token Newsletter".  I hope those who haven't read it before well enjoy it.
